BSA Seminars and CoursesLEVEL 1 COACHES COURSE To be allowed to coach or corner you MUST have an up-to-date Level 1 Coaching Accreditation with Ausport. To help those people without accreditation, Boxing SA will be running a Level 1 Coaches Course: When: Saturday 17th May 2008, Where: Aboriginal Sobriety Group Gym 182-190 Wakefield St Adelaide. Time: 9am to 5pm Cost: $220 for non affiliated participants and $120 for participants affiliated with clubs registered with Boxing SA (This fee includes a manual, DVD and Coach Accreditation Fee with Ausport.) The number of participants will be limited to 20 and places will be allocated on a first registered basis, however preference will be given to participants registered with Boxing SA or with a club affiliated with Boxing SA. To be eligible to participate at this course you MUST complete the “Beginning Coaching General Principals” course and provide a copy of your course completion certificate to Boxing SA by 4pm, Friday 9 th May 2008. If your completion certificate is not received by this date your place will be offered tosomeone else. The Beginning Coaching General Principles course is available from the Australian Sports Commission’s online portal at http://learning.ausport.gov.au once registered you will be able to do the course via theinternet in your own time. There is no charge for the online course at this stage. It is anticipated that another Level 1 course will be run in June 2008 – remember if you don’t have your Level 1 Coach Accreditation you will NOT be allowed to enter the corner at tournaments. Application forms for the Level 1 course are enclosed with this newsletter.

Would you like to get more involved in the sport of amateur boxing? Boxing SA are continually looking for males or females to become either Referees or Judges in this fast and exciting sport. Without accredited Referees and Judges boxing and our boxers skills and values will suffer. Amateur boxing instills respect, sportsmanship and discipline into its competitors, and your involvement will ensure that these values are continued.
